The Millewa Pioneer Forest & historical society would like
to wish you all the very best for the year 2005 and hope you
get the opportunity to visit the Millewa Pioneer Park sometimes
soon. The park has undergone a slight facelift with the painting
of the office and the relocated Yarrara Hall, the government
building has been extensively cleaned with high pressure water
gun and looks brand new. Our October open day 2004 was a fine
success with everyone having a great time. Approx. 450 people
turned out for the day, the vintage car club members were
down in numbers this time which is a great shame, people love
to see the old cars although we did have Mr John Hiscox pass
through with friends with his Daimler and other classics.
This years committee trip was to Elphick's island a little
down the river from Neds Corner, Bob Kelly took his bocce
balls, and fishing rods were supplied for us to take advantage
of, carp were caught only hehehe, oh well maybe next time
we will get the big Murray Cod.
We are hoping to extend the machinery shed in the new year
which is dependent on a grant (fingers crossed) this will
add 80 feet to the East side allowing us more storage room.At
our last meeting Bill Duncan stepped down from the Presidents
role of the Committee and Fred Curtis was unanimously voted
in as our new President, Margaret Kelly is still secretary
and Des Gray is Treasurer .Our web site has attracted over
39,000 hits in the last 2 years and we will be re-registration
for another 2 years in February please take the time to have
a look http://www.millewapioneerpark.org.au
